Gilt bronze hilt. Guard branches decorated with foliage. Relief-moulded hilt with a rooster surrounded by a crown of oak and laurel leaves, all resting on a bundle of flags. Smooth folding backstrap. Pommel decorated with a winged Jupiter spindle with lightning bolts. Gray shagreen-wrapped wooden handle. Gilt brass ferrules. Double-edged white blade, length 77.9 cm. Scarlet cloth ribbon.
