RÉDUCTION DE LA MÉDAILLE COMMÉMORATIVE DE LA CAMPAGNE D'ITALIE, premier type, créée en 1859, Second Empire.
En argent, de forme ronde et ceinte d'une couronne de laurier, elle représente sur l'avers l’effigie de l’Empereur couronné de laurier encadré de la légende « NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR ». Sur le revers inscription « CAMPAGNE D’ITALIE - 1859 » encadrant le nom des batailles de « MONTEBELLO, PALESTRO, TURBIGO, MAGENTA, MARIGNAN, SOLFERINO ». Surmonté d'une couronne impériale articulée. H 26 mm, largeur 16 mm. Ruban en soie alternant six raies verticales rouges de 4 mm et de cinq raies verticales blanches. Largeur 27 mm.

MÉDAILLE DE LA VALEUR MILITAIRE SARDE GUERRE D'ITALIE, Second Empire.
En argent, de forme ronde, avers représentant le blason de la Maison de Savoie alors Royaume de Sardaigne dans un ovale encadré d'un rameau de feuilles de laurier et d'une palme, surmonté de la couronne royale et bordé de la légende « AL VALORE MILITARE ». Au revers deux rameaux de feuilles de laurier, bordés de la légende « GUERRE D'ITALIE - 1859 ». Diamètre 33 mm. Bélière fixe. Ruban en soie alternant six raies verticales rouges de 4 mm et de 5 raies verticales blanches. Largeur ruban 27 mm.
