RÉDUCTION D'UNE CROIX DE CHEVALIER DE LA LÉGION D'HONNEUR, quatrième type 1808-1814, Premier Empire

Aigle en argent à cinq rayons doubles à pointes émaillées de blanc pommetées, surmontée d'une couronne. Étoile entourée de feuilles de chêne et de laurier émail vert clair. Centre avers en or représentant sur fond de soleil rayonnant la profil de la tête couronné de l'Empereur à dextre, ceint d'un cercle d'émail bleu avec en exergue l'inscription en lettres d'or : « NAPOLÉON EMP. DES FRANÇAIS ». Centre revers montrant l'Aigle Impériale, tête à dextre sur fond d'or, entourée d'un cercle d'émail bleu avec la devise d'or : « HONNEUR ET PATRIE ».
Étoile surmontée d'une couronne, indépendante et surmontée d'une petite boule que traverse l'anneau de suspension cannelé, sommée d'une petite croix, plus renflée que celle du modèle de second type, présentant huit fleurons larges et à huit arches.
La couronne possède un crochet à l'intérieur pour être passé dans la boule de suspension du chevalet situé entre les deux branches supérieures de la croix.
H 2,6 cm, Diamètre 1,4 cm.
