“We Charles Ferdinand Duke of Berry, Son of France, Colonel General of the Horse Hunters and Lancers, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Army in Belgium, etc. etc. etc. ; certify that Monsieur de Micard, Adolphe, Chevau-Léger de la Garde, followed the King to Belgium, that he was part of the Army Corps under my command and that he gave proof of loyalty, zeal and of his dedication to the service of Her Majesty. In witness whereof we have sent him this certificate which we have signed and to which we have affixed the Seal of our Arms.
Done at the Château des Tuileries, January 1, 1816.”
