CAVALRY PISTOL, model An IX of Charleville, First Empire. 21696

Slightly shortened barrel, length 20.3 cm, length with breech tail 24.2 cm, breech tail signed "Mle An 9", barrel stamped "P / An 14".
Long barrel wooden frame; all fittings stamped with the letter "T" from the reviser Tisseron, 1764-1775 then from 1796 to 1815. Receipt stamp on the wood, difficult to read.
Flintlock signed "Manufre Imple de Charleville", stamped "F". Steel ramrod not of the model.
Total length of the gun: 35 cm.

Good condition, pistol remained in its original state, never cleaned, the steel parts are oxidized but could be cleaned even if I strongly advise against it to keep this weapon in its "untouched" state.

NOTE :
Jean Boudriot in his work on regulatory firearms, explains that the An IX pistol was manufactured until 1807, the model following An XIII was produced from 1806. This specimen is therefore in the last years of production in very beginning of the Empire.
