CAVALRY PISTOL, model year IX, First Empire. 19626

Wooden stock with a long barrel. All fittings in brass. Octagonal then round barrel, slightly shortened, length 20.3 cm, with the breech tang 24 cm, marked "M. year 9 / N13." Flintlock engraved "Manufre Imple de Charleville" hallmarked, like all fittings, with the letter "T" of the inspector Tisseron, 1764-1775 and from 1796 to 1815.

NOTE:
Jean Boudriot in his work on regulatory firearms explains that the An IX pistol was manufactured until 1807, the model following the An XIII was produced from 1806 onwards. This specimen thus dates from the final years of production at the very beginning of the Empire.
