Instruction imprimée sur une face sur un document de deux feuilles, à l'entête du Ministère de la Guerre, Bureau de l'Inspection à Paris le 12 février 1812, destinée aux conseils d'administration des régiments d'infanterie, dans laquelle le Ministre de la Guerre notifie pour ordre du jour que les bataillons de guerre vont recevoir incessamment un pavillon pour orner l'aigle de chaque régiment. Le Ministre précise l'intention de Sa Majesté l'Empereur que les 2e et 3e porte-aigles aient un casque et des épaulettes défensives, ils devront être armés d'une paire de pistolets et d'un esponton fort et de défense garni d'une flamme ou banderole.
