DRESS COAT OF A MAJOR GENERAL (BRIGADE GENERAL) CASUAL UNIFORM, July Monarchy.
Coat made of dark navy blue almost black satin wool, closed on the chest by a row of nine large 1830 uniform buttons (half-bomb-shaped, gilded with a matte finish, embossed in relief on a background of a bundle of French rooster flags) with a diameter of 2.5 cm.
Collar made of dark navy blue satin wool, 7.5 cm high, embroidered with threads, tinsel, and golden sequins in a row of oak leaves about 6 cm wide, bordered at the top by a scalloped wick; it is rounded at the front.
Sleeves ending in a straight panel 10.5 cm high, made of the same wool fabric as the tunic and similarly embroidered like the collar (the row is about 5.8 cm wide), bordered at the top by a scalloped wick.
Shoulder loops made of braiding with threads, tinsel, and golden sequins (length 9.5 cm, width 1.5 cm).
At the bottom of the back are embroidered branches of oak and laurel with four uniform buttons.
False high pockets each adorned with three uniform buttons.
At the bottom of each turn-back of the tails, an embroidered gold badge on blue wool fabric is sewn, representing a winged staff lightning bolt, 6.6 cm in height, 4.3 cm wide.
Interior lining partly missing.
Division general epaulettes with a body embroidered with threads, tinsel, and golden sequins representing a braid forming Vs with scalloped edges. At the end, three silver stars for the rank of lieutenant general (division general) are fastened on a shield entirely embroidered in golden braiding, bordered by three turns and finished with fringes with thick twisted strands called "spinach seeds."

The denomination of lieutenant general is again used instead of "division general," and of major general instead of "brigade general" under the Restoration and the July Monarchy, and disappears definitively in 1848.
