Monture en bronze doré poinçonnée sous le quillon « Manceau », à branche latérale et plateau étroit à quillon. Calotte à bourrelets à courte queue. La monture est décorée de feuilles de laurier et de feuilles d'acanthe. Poignée en bois gainé de cuir filigrané de cuivre doré. Lame unie de 75,4 cm de long à la Montmorency, dos marqué « Manufre Rle de Klingenthal juillet 1829 s.a » ; elle est gravée sur son avers « DONNÉ PAR LE ROI ». Fourreau en cuir à trois garnitures de laiton.

Remis aux élèves de l'École Royale de Saint Cyr dès 1822, puis aux Volontaires de la Charte en 1831, lors de leur nomination au grade de sous-lieutenant dans l'infanterie.
Le bracelet de bélière central est adopté en 1845 avec le modèle à bélière.
