Ce képi à donc pu appartenir à un ltn colonel de l'état major particulier du génie, ou encore détaché dans les différents service tel qu'un état major d'un général, ministre, maréchal, dans une école, dans un ministère, l'administration centrale…

Képi de forme hybride s'inspirant et du képi foulard avec sa forme pentue et du képi polo avec un corps assez rigide, calot, turban et bandeau en drap fin bleu de ciel (quelques trous de mites minimes sur le drap), marques de grade en fine soutaches de nuance gris clair et foncé.
Devant le bandeau grenade enflammée brodée directement sur le drap de fond.
Petits boutons du génie, estampés d'une cuirasse et d'un casque, maintiennent la fausse jugulaire en drap de fond avec ses deux passant amovibles.

Dessus du calot orné d'un noeud hongrois en fine soutache grise à triple brins, typique pour les officiers supérieurs.

Visière en cuir verni noir, doublé de maroquin gaufré noir.

Intérieur de coiffe en soie noire.
Bandeau intérieur en cuir souple noir.

Coiffe portée en très bon état de conservation.
