* Baron Louis Doguereau, born July 11, 1777 in Dreux and died August 19, 1856 in Landes-le-Gaulois (Loir-et-Cher), is a French general and politician.
Son of Jean Pierre Perfect Doguereau, master wig maker in Dreux, and Anne Louise Fourreau2, he entered the Artillery School in 1794, lieutenant in the Army of the Rhine in 1795, captain in Egypt and wounded at Saint- Jean-d'Acre, battalion chief in 1803, major in the imperial guard in 1806, colonel in 1807 and sent to Spain, as chief of staff of the general's artillery

** The Guards Horse Artillery Regiment is a mounted artillery unit integrated into the Imperial Guard. Although the formation as a regiment did not see the light of day until April 1806, its origins date back to May 1797 with first training in the Army of Italy.
Initially organized into three squadrons, the Guard horse artillery regiment took part in the Prussian and Polish campaigns, and in particular in the battles of Jena, Eylau and Friedland. He participated in the Spanish War in 1808, the Austrian campaign in 1809 and the Russian campaign in 1812.
The horse artillerymen of the Guard still took an active part in the German campaign in 1813 and that of France in 1814, before being dissolved by royal order of May 12, 1814 and returned to the line regiments.
The Guard horse artillery regiment was reformed in 1815 during the Hundred Days and took part in the Belgian campaign. It was definitively dissolved after the second abdication of Napoleon and the return of the Bourbons.
