CAPTAIN'S SHAKO FOR HUSSARS ON HORSEBACK, RESTORATION PERIOD (1818-1822).
Made of leather covered in black cotton fabric, topped with a blackened and waxed cowhide calotte. The concave calotte has a diameter of 190 mm, folded over the edges and covered with a 30 mm wide silver braid indicating the rank of captain. The height of the shako is 250 mm.
Silver silk cockade with a 75 mm diameter, featuring a domed white metal uniform button at the center. The chinstrap is made up of a triple silver square braid.
Horizontal black polished leather visor.
At the back, a semi-elliptical black calf covering for the nape, with a height of 190 mm, topped with a small silver cord, missing the domed uniform button.
Interior lining made of leather cut into wolf teeth.
Oval pompon with a wooden mold covered in a silver cord, 60 mm in height, 45 mm in width.
