FUSIL MOUSQUET KNOWN AS "DE VAUBAN", flintlock and matchlock firearm.
Estimation 2000 / 3000 €

Strong octagonal then round iron barrel with a blunderbuss at its end, decorated with scrolls and interlaced foliage. Wavy walnut stock without decoration.
Lock combining flint ignition and matchlock safety device, made of steel engraved with scrolls and foliage, signed in the center "SALUS AUZARME" (salute to arms!). The pan cover combines a pan cover to use either ignition method. It is held by three screws and has two triggers for the respective ignitions.

17th century, reigns of Louis XIII and Louis XIV.
Good condition, the set has been polished and recolored in the 21st century, as well as the blued screws.

NOTE: The Army Museum holds a deluxe rifle of the same system under reference N/410 originating from Louis XIII's Armory (Lindsay page 86).
