Guard with a brass branch. Cap with a short tail. Wooden handle sheathed in calf leather and a double twisted brass wire. Brass ferrule. Branch stamped in an oval "AC" for Antoine Chapelle, director from February 1805 to July 1809; "NB" of the contractor Nicolas Boutet; in an oval "JC" from the reviewer Jean Cazamajou from January 1809 to September 1811.
Curved blade with hollow edges carrying the stamps "M" under a toothed wheel of J.J Mouton, first class controller from July 1789 to February 1809 and "B" of Lieutenant Colonel Simon Ferdinand Beaumaretz, inspector from September 1803 to June 1807. Back of the blade marked "Manufacture Imperiale du Klingenthal Coulaux frères".
Blade length 70 cm, width at the heel 3.6 cm. Remains of a scarlet cloth tie.
Black waxed leather scabbard with two brass fittings, cap with a sword button, end of the scabbard with a brass shoe.
Total length 85 cm, weight 1.011 kg.
