BODYGUARD FLINTLOCK PISTOL OF THE KING, model of 1755. Former Monarchy, reign of Louis XV, circa 1755. 34622
Walnut wood stock with iron reinforcement under the barrel, all fittings are in iron and lightly chiseled with ornaments and lines: butt cap with a button engraved with the sun emblematic of the bodyguards; trigger guard, sideplate ending with the fleur-de-lis, shield-shaped thumbpiece crowned with the letter "ZBI", ramrod pipes. Square lockplate stamped with the mark of the Saint-Etienne manufacturing center, the crowned letters "S" and "E"; the name of the contractor, "Simon Jourjon," appears below. Barrel with flat rib for 10 cm then round to the muzzle. The interior of the trigger guard and the sideplate is marked "GIRARD" in small capitals; on the back of the lockplate we find the name " ...LAROV... ," and under the barrel tang " ...ULIE ... GONON."
Total length of the weapon: 48.5 cm; barrel length: 31 cm; caliber: 16.8 mm; weight: 1.04 kg.

Very good condition, tired wood with small fillings, modern ramrod, probable lateral joint of the stock for about 18 cm.
