FANTASY OFFICER'S SWORD OF THE DRAGOON REGIMENT, Former Monarchy, reign of Louis XV, circa 1750. Inventory number 34601.
Sturdy polished brass hilt. Guard with three branches, one side guard branch spiraled terminating in a dragon's head, and a counter-guard branch, double quillon and langets. Octagonal pommel. Filigreed wooden grip entirely wrapped in brass wire. 93 cm blade, with a back marked with an arrow identifying the Solingen manufacture, with the flat engraved with various very faded mottoes and arabesques, including "Long live the King" in large cursive script. Long 18 cm fuller.
