FANTASY INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD, Former Monarchy, period of Louis XV, circa 1750. 34594
Polished brass hilt. Complex guard with double shell, knuckle guard, and quillon. The highly ornamented guard piece is fixed with rivets. Octagonal pommel and wooden grip entirely filigreed and bound with brass wire. Straight 88 cm blade of the colichemarde type with double edge, decorated with very faded engravings.
France.
Very good condition, blade with oxidation from use, resoldered quillon, without scabbard.
