Pressed metal helmet with nickel plating.
Visor edged with a circle of gilded copper placed astride its edges and fixed at the ends by a rivet. Underside of visor in green waxed morocco leather.
Neck guard similarly encircled with the visor, lined with white calf leather.
Gilded copper headband stamped with a flaming grenade surrounded by laurel leaves, adhering to the helmet.
Each chin strap is composed of 10 ornamented copper scales with embossed relief laurel leaves, decreasing in width. These scales are fastened with flattened iron wire rivets on a leather core lined with black velvet. At the other end, a black varnished calf skin browband.
Upper scale of each chin strap fixed to the helmet with a lock and a circular rosette stamped with relief laurel leaves.
The helmet is topped with a gilded copper crest composed of two fins, a mask, and a cover.
The fins are in the shape of a convex curvilinear triangle at the top, connecting to the helmet with a concave base forming a scalloped edge.
This edge is attached to the helmet with 4 round-headed copper screws stopped inside the helmet by square copper nuts.
The mask serving as the anterior connection between the two fins through a weld, is embossed with a relief head of Medusa. The cover, also embossed, depicts the continuation of Medusa's hair with intertwined snakes.
Black dyed horsehair mane mounted on a strong cowhide sole. Mane length is approximately 30 cm.
Gilded copper plume holder.
Black leather interior lining, cut with seven teeth, each fitted with a metal eyelet.

Poor condition, needs restoration. Pitting on the nickel plating, parts of the brass discolored, one missing scale on the chin strap and another detached, mane cut at 30 cm.
