GIBERNE SET FOR THE GENDARMES OF THE KING'S MILITARY HOUSEHOLD, model 1814, Restoration period. 34375
Box made of long-grain waxed bordeaux-colored leather-covered wood and decorated on its sides with gilded brass plates, at the top of which is fixed a ring intended to receive the hooks for hanging the banner. Height of the box 7.5 cm, width 13.5 cm.
Shoulder piece, total height 9.7 cm, width 15.9 cm, made of smooth polished gilded brass with agate stone, framed on its sides and lower part by a 0.4 cm wide relief chiseled ring, and in its center adorned with a gilded bronze emblem representing Jupiter's flaming and sparkling thunderbolt (height 5 cm, width 9 cm). The shoulder piece is lined with bordeaux long-grain waxed leather with an identical flap sewn into the wood for closure.
Thickness of the box 2.2 cm.
