OFFICER'S SABRE OF THE SUBALTERN OFFICERS OF THE ROYAL GENDARMERIE, model 1816, Restoration period. 34393
Gilded brass hilt. Four-branch guard, short-tailed pommel engraved on the top with a fleur-de-lys; handle in wood sheathed in black waxed calf leather with filigree brass.
Curved blade with hollow and groove edges. It is engraved "ROYAL GENDARMERIE" inside a rectangular cartouche ending with a royal crown, signed at the base "Coulaux Frères / Royal Manufacture of Klingenthal", gilded and blued on its first third. Length 91 cm, width at the base 3.1 cm. Red cloth wrap.
Steel scabbard with two golden brass suspension bands, with brass rings.

Restoration period (1816-1820).
Good condition, partially discolored hilt, blade in perfect condition, scabbard with light oxidation.
