Round barrel with flat side panels at the breech, engraved on the side "82" (1782), illegible mark, 1777-1785, length 18.8 cm, length with the bolt handle 21.4 cm. Walnut stock, butt marked "??? 1783," likely with the "B" underneath a fleur-de-lys, indicating the controller Boulanger in St Étienne from 1763 to 1784, only the fleur-de-lys is distinguishable. Trigger guard. Brass cap and lock. Lockplate signed "St Etienne" with the crowned "L" of Étienne Lambert, controller from 1777 to 1784. Flintlock mechanism. Steel ramrod with nail head.
Caliber 17 mm. Total length of the firearm 33.5 cm.

Fair condition, heavy pitting, missing the belt hook originally intended for dragoons.
