PAIR OF SHOULDER BOARDS FOR A SECOND LIEUTENANT OR LIEUTENANT OF THE FOOT GRENADIER OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD, First Empire. 23645
Pair comprised of a shoulder board (without fringes) and a shoulder board with soft fringes, known as "well ropes" (H 5 cm). Body made of cardboard covered with a woven golden "cockade" braid (width 6.5 cm, length 8 cm). Ends shaped like a shield embroidered in the center with a flaming bomb (shield width 8 cm x length 4.9 cm). They are bordered by three loops (the central loop is much wider). Scarlet cloth lining.
