OFFICER'S SABRETACHE OF THE 2nd REGIMENT OF THE GUARDS OF HONOUR, model 1813, First Empire (1813-1815). 34343
Made of black polished leather (height 33.5 cm, width at the top 21 cm, width at the bottom 30 cm). It is edged with a strip of leather folded over and sewn on the outer edge with a double silver thread forming a chain outside.
In the center, an imperial eagle in silver-plated brass holding the sparkling thunderbolt of Jupiter in its talons (height 10.3 cm, width 10 cm). It is topped with a finely pierced imperial crown of the same metal (height 3.2 cm, width 3.7 cm). Below, the numeral "2" made of the same metal (height 4 cm, width 2.7 cm). These three elements are of very high-quality finishing and correspond to the precise model used in the 2nd regiment, with a matte silver finish and polished protruding parts in agate stone; they are attached by means of silver metal tabs soldered at the back through which a lace is passed on the inside of the sabretache. Around its border, a flat silver thread of 0.7 cm wide is embroidered.
Inside the sabretache, a pocket made of black waxed leather, lined with ecru canvas, is fitted.
At the top, three suspension rings made of brass (outer diameter 3 cm, thickness 0.4 cm).
