UNDER-PREFECT'S KEPI, Second Empire. 32335
Entirely made of dark navy blue almost black cloth, with braids and soutache cords in flat silver thread. Band 3.5 cm high embroidered with a design of oak and olive branches with fruits, embroidered with silver thread, spangles, and sequins. Top knot decorated with a Hungarian bow in silver braid. Visor in square black patent leather, underside in green waxed calf leather, black patent leather welt sewn on the outer edge. False chinstrap in silver trimmings with two silver-plated brass bell buttons. Inner cap made of golden brown waxed calf band, lining in pink silk.
