COMMANDER'S KEPI OF THE 7th INFANTRY REGIMENT, Second Empire. 32338R
Black wool band, 3 cm high, with a brass number "7" attached at the front. Scarlet wool cap, 4.5 cm high at the front, with flat braid trimmings in gold passementerie, false chinstrap in gold passementerie, smooth half-spherical buttons in gilded brass. Top decorated with a Hungarian knot designed by three small flat braids in gold passementerie. Square-shaped black varnished leather visor, black waxed underneath, edged with a leather strip folded over the outer edge. Black silk interior with a band of gold waxed leather, the cap's bottom lined with black varnished canvas embossed with "CHIBOUT / EQUIPMT & HABILIT / LUNEVILLE."
