OFFICER'S SWORD OF THE DOMINICAN NAVY, Mid-20th century. 32680
Brass hilt. Guard with two branches forming an openwork shell with a branch of oak leaves on which is placed a ribbon marked "RD"; the guard branch ends at the top in the shape of a dolphin, just like the downward curved quillon. Folding counter-guard. Pommel with short tail featuring the coat of arms of the Dominican Republic. Handle made of wood wrapped in ivory shagreen filigree brass. Natural buffalo tie. Nickel-plated blade, straight with hollow ground and grooves, 76 cm long; it is signed on one side at the tang "TRADE / CONQUEROR / MARK / N.S. MEYER / INC / NEW YORK" and acid-etched with a caravel with clouds, military trophies, a fouled anchor, and the inscription "REPUBLICA DOMINICANA"; and on the other side it is engraved with a six-pointed star with a raised round medallion in the center of a stylized flower with the inscription "PROVED" and acid-etched with the Arms of the Dominican Republic and the inscription "MARINA DE GUERRA."

Very good condition, gilded mount, blade in perfect condition, without scabbard.
