ITALIAN NAVY OFFICER'S SWORD, House of Savoy (1861-1946). 32662
Gilt bronze hilt. Guard with a wide branch forming a shell decorated with scale-shaped flutings and a molded medallion of the fouled anchor of the navy. Folding counter-guard. Cap with a long tail shaped like a crowned lion's head. Grip made of wood covered in brown shagreen, brass wire filigree. Ferrule. Slightly curved blade with hollow facets, length 78 cm, marked at the heel "F. HÖRSTER / SOLINGEN", decorated on two-thirds with acid-etched floral motifs, military trophies on both sides; on the obverse side, coat of arms of the Kingdom of Italy (1861-1946); on the reverse side, a fouled anchor surmounted by an eagle, emblem of the Royal Italian Navy. Black varnished leather scabbard with three gilt bronze fittings, richly decorated with oak leaves, vegetal motifs, and anchor. Central fitting with ring and suspension loop. End of the scabbard with a lyre-shaped drag.

Very good condition, scuffed varnish on the scabbard, blade tip reshaped compared to the regulatory models, damaged drag.
