CAVALRY PISTOL, model An XIII, from the Imperial Factory of Charleville, First Empire. 33738
Walnut stock with a short end.
Barrel length of 20 cm, dated "1812", 24 cm with the breech. Breech marked "Model year 13".
All brass fittings stamped with "T" in a crown from the inspector François Tisseron in Charleville, 1796-1815, the counter-plate is stamped "CG". Flintlock plate signed "Manufre Imple de Charleville". Trigger guard stamped "19" in a diamond.
Rear of the cap adorned with a small lozenge-shaped brass plate welded on representing a miniature shako plate type 1818 from the 9th cavalry regiment.
Iron ramrod with nail head.
Total length of the weapon is 35.5 cm.
Caliber 18 mm.

In fairly good condition, barrel oxidation, defective lock spring (the second notch is weak), wood refinished but with a lovely patina, decorative plate on the rear of the cap is later addition.
