GERMAN WAR NAVY OFFICER'S SWORD, model 1923, Third Reich. 32653-1
Gilt bronze hilt. Single-branch guard with vegetal decoration forming a folding shell representing a naval anchor, acanthus leaves, and laurel leaves. Perforated folding knuckle with a hole for attachment to the scabbard. Long-tailed cap in the shape of a lion's head. Ivory celluloid-covered wooden grip, brass wire filigree. Scarlet cloth knot. Curved white blade with a rounded back, length 75 cm, signed on the ricasso "Alcoso in Solingen." Black varnished leather scabbard with three brass fittings with scalloped edges engraved with lines; fittings attached to leather with brass staples. Matriculated chape "O 2488" (O: East for assignments to the East), tang for the locking of the knuckle. The tip of the scabbard with a brass fitting cut in the shape of a lyre.
