Gilt bronze hilt. Guard with two branches forming an openwork shell with a naval anchor surmounted by the imperial crown and foliage. Quillon in the shape of a dolphin's head. Pommel with a long tail decorated with floral motifs and scallop shells. Black horn handle. Brass ferrule. Scarlet cloth knot. Blade with grooves and a strong central ridge, slightly curved, length 61.6 cm, signed "Manufre Nale Klingenthal". Black polished leather scabbard with three gilt brass fittings richly embossed with a floral motif. Throatpiece with a button for wearing on the belt in the shape of a scallop shell, decorated with a naval anchor topped by an imperial crown. Tip of the scabbard ending in a lyre-shaped chape.
