Gilt bronze hilt. Branch featuring floral decoration. Quillon in the shape of a wild animal's head. Shield-shaped guard decorated with a lion holding a shield in its front paws, featuring the head of Medusa on a background of military trophies, all framed by an oak branch and a laurel branch. Pommel in the shape of an ancient warrior's head. Handle in wood with ribbed mother-of-pearl plates, with golden brass side bands. Scarlet cloth tie. Triangular blade engraved and gilded with floral motifs on a blued background, 81.2 cm long. Black varnished leather scabbard with two gilt brass fittings decorated with lines.

Very good condition, wear on the leather of the scabbard.
