Body made of cardboard covered with dark blue cloth, bordered on the upper part with a black woolen braid in a "cul-de-dé" pattern, black varnished leather cap with a hunting horn, symbol of the regiment, in embossed brass.
Cockade made of white lacquered metal in the colors of the French flag, to which is attached a square tress with a double strand of dark blue passementerie held by a smooth half-spherical brass button.
Spherical pompom made of scarlet wool.
On the sides, dark blue almost black lacquered copper aeration holes.
Chinstrap with a gold-plated brass chain covered with black leather, on the sides and at the back of the cap at the level of the braid, three golden metal lion heads are used to secure the chinstrap.
Black varnished leather visor encircled by a folded brass wire on the outer border, marked underneath with "2.C".
Interior leather headband. Markings on the inside of the cap are difficult to read.
Height of the shako at the front 10 cm.
Height at the back 14 cm.
Cap height 3 cm on the sides.
Braid width 2.5 cm.
Cockade diameter 4 cm.
