Brass hilt with a narrower decoration, with three branches forming a shell decorated with an oak branch and a laurel branch. Cap with a short tail decorated with an oak branch, laurel, and a palmette. Horn handle. Slightly curved blade with gutters and hollow edges, signed on the back "National Arms Manufacture of Châtellerault May 1917 Staff Officer model 1845," 77 cm long. Steel scabbard with a carrying ring bracket.
