SILVER EAGLE OF THE LEGION OF HONOR FROM MARSHAL OUDINOT, third type 1806-1808, First Empire. 32257
Silver eagle with five double-pointed rays enameled in white, topped with a crown. Star surrounded by lightly green enameled oak and laurel leaves. Obverse center in gold representing the crowned profile head of the Emperor turned to the left on a background of radiant sun, encircled by a blue enamel circle with the inscription in gold letters: "NAPOLÉON EMP. DES FRANÇAIS." Reverse center showing the Imperial Eagle, head turned to the left, right wing passing behind the body, on a field of Azure, surrounded by a blue enamel circle with the golden motto: "HONNEUR ET PATRIE" (Honor and Fatherland).
Star topped with a crown, independent and topped with a small ball pierced by the suspension ring, surmounted by a small cross, more swollen than that of the second type model, with eight wide petals and eight beaded arches.
The crown has a hook inside to be passed through the suspension ball of the easel located between the two upper branches of the cross.
Hallmarked bail ring.
