Rectangular silver-plated brass plate with cut edges, H 7.8 cm, width 8.9 cm without the curvature. Stamped and gilded copper center, riveted to the plate (H 7 cm, width 6.1 cm), depicting the Crowned Arms of France surrounded by an oak branch and a laurel branch with a cartouche at the bottom bearing the inscription "ROYAL GENDARMERIE." Complete with its belt loop and rear hook.

Fair condition, plate never cleaned, one of the four rivets of the central plate is missing.
