Brass hilt. Guard with four branches, main branch numbered "493" and "10" crossed out. Quillon marked "VERSAILLES" and a probably "JC" (difficult to read) hallmark of the inspector J. Cazamajou, January 1809 - September 1811. Short-tailed pommel. Grip made of wood wrapped in calfskin with filigree brass, brass ferrule. Straight blade with double hollow ground, length 97.5 cm, marked below with a starred "M" by the inspector C. Marion, December 1808 - June 1811, a •B" from J.G. Bick, first-class controller from February 1809 to July 1819, and "L" of the inspector F.L. Lobstein, 1813 to July 1821. It is signed on the back "Mfture Imple du Klingenthal October 1810"; tip of the blade in line with the back. Steel scabbard with two suspension rings.

In fairly good condition, a large part of the filigree is missing, oxidation present on the blade and scabbard due to use.
NOTE:
This sword was brought to Great Britain after the Battle of Waterloo.
