BEARSKIN PLATE OF THE FOOT GRENADIERS OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD, model 1809-1814, First Empire. 33829
Brass plate measuring 16 cm in height and 20 cm in width (without curvature). Stamped at the center with a crowned eagle perched on the shining thunderbolt of Jupiter, and in the two lower corners, with a flaming grenade.
The plate is bordered by a framing molding consisting of a prominent double raised line surrounding a ribbed ribbon design.
The edges are folded over themselves and reinforced with a copper wire. At the bottom corners, two small holes are made to allow the plate to be attached to the frame using a brass wire, as well as a hole at the top.

Very good condition, some period dents and creases.
