BELT BUCKLE OF THE OFFICER OF THE DEPARTMENTAL GENDARMERIE, model 1854, Second Empire. 33825
Made of gilded bronze, rectangular with cut corners, H 7.6 cm, width 9.3 cm with its curvature. In the center, it is adorned with an uncrowned imperial eagle holding in its talons the shining thunderbolt of Jupiter, surmounted by the inscription "GENDARMERIE DEPARTEMENTALE". At the bottom, a ribbon bears the inscription "SURETE PUBLIQUE". On the reverse, it is complete with its stud and hook as well as its two prongs, lined with a green waxed leather.
