Made of leather covered with black cotton fabric, topped with a blackened and waxed cowhide cap. Round cap Ø 17 cm folded on the edges and covered with a 3 cm wide silver braid indicating the rank of captain. Shako height 24 cm.
Cockade made of silver trim Ø 7 cm, with a half-silvered metal uniform button in the center. Silver trim consisting of three large braids wrapping around the button.
Square-shaped black varnished leather visor, inside waxed green, with outer edges adorned with a blackened calf leather fold sewn in place. Visor top, at shako level, adorned with a thick silver braid.
At the back, a semi-elliptical black varnished calf leather neck cover, height 20 cm, adorned with a silvered metal lion's head holding a hook in its mouth to support the chin strap.
On each side of the shako at the lower part, a silvered metal lion's head with a hook allows for attaching the chin strap formed by intertwined silver metal rings.
Interior lining consists of a 13 cm high black varnished leather headband. Shako body lined with black paper.
Lenticular round wooden pompom covered with a silver cord, lined with ivory silk. Ø 4.7 cm, thickness 3 cm, mounted with a double 8.5 cm high brass stem.
