The members of the Board of Directors of the 11th Cavalry Regiment "certify that citizen Jean-Baptiste Berthoz was wounded by a gunshot to the right arm on the 18th day of Nivôse in the year 7 (7th January 1799) in Salmon (Neapolitan country) while fighting the enemies of the Republic. Lille, 3rd day of Floréal in the year 9 (23rd April 1801)."
Handwritten note: "Seen, in the absence of the Inspector, by Me, Deputy War Commissioner. Augier".
