1 - Fully handwritten document, signed by the officers composing the Administrative Council of the 29th Infantry Regiment.
Red wax seal "29th INFANTRY REGIMENT".
The members of the Administrative Council of the said regiment certify "that citizen Laurent DESCOUDRÉ (or Descoudret in the heading), drum major of said regiment, was killed by a bomb fragment at the siege of Valenciennes on July 22.
In testimony thereof, we issued this at the Camp des Solinières (Sorinières)* (near Nantes) on 4 floréal in the 8th month of the 2nd republican year."

* The fortified camp of Naudières, also called the camp of La Roullière or Sorinières, was established on May 8, 1794, near Sorinières (near Nantes).

Beautiful red wax seal "EIGHTY-THIRD INFANTRY REGIMENT / FRENCH REPUBLIC".
"citizen Gabriel JACOB was wounded in the right hand in the affair of the last prairial, in front of the village of Temples, and having left for the hospital... having given us no information about his condition, we are unaware of the probable outcome of his wound.
Done at the cantonment of Eswick near Nimègue** on 3 frimaire in the 3rd republican year".

** Nimègue, a city located in the eastern Netherlands, near the German border to the southeast of the province of Gueldre, close to the provinces of North Brabant and Limburg. An ancient Roman camp, it is one of the oldest cities in the country.
