BIOGRAPHY:
Louis-Charles de Bourbon, born at the Château de Sceaux on October 15, 1701, where he died on July 13, 1775, was a French prince, a member of the House of Bourbon, who held titles such as Duke of Aumale, Duke of Maine, Duke of Gisors, Count of Eu, Count of Dreux, Prince of Anet, and Baron of Sceaux, as well as the last sovereign of Dombes from 1755 to 1762 (when the sovereignty was annexed to the Kingdom of France) under the name Louis-Charles I. As the second son of the Duke of Maine, he was a grandson of the King of France, Louis XIV.
