Gilt bronze hilt. Guard with two branches forming a pierced shell with a naval anchor topped by the royal crown framed by reeds and oak leaves. The guard branch is decorated with acanthus leaves and is cable-stayed. Quillon in the shape of a dolphin's head. Pommel with a long tail decorated with scallop shells and a vegetal motif. Ebony handle. Ferrule decorated with lines. Scarlet cloth knot. Slightly curved almost straight blade, flat, ribbed back, 75 cm in length.

NOTE:
This sword is part of the transition swords around 1840-1845, derived from the 1837 model with the introduction of the cable-stayed guard branch and the quillon in the shape of a dolphin's head, which became standard from 1840 onwards.
