NOTE:
This sword is part of the transition swords around 1840-1845, derived from the 1837 model with the introduction of reed motifs inspired by the Dutch sword model 1843 (also produced by the Coulaux manufacture in Klingenthal). This specimen is an early version recognizable by the quillon in the shape of a dolphin head which will be officially adopted from the model 1848 sword onwards.
