Symmetrical one-piece brass hilt. Handle depicting 26 cords. Crossguard with the serial number "454". Felt tie. Double-edged blade with central ridge, length 48.9 cm, signed at the base "Manufacture Royale de Châtellerault / February 1832". Black varnished leather scabbard hot stamped "GIRARD LOUIS / At / CHÂTELLERAULT", with two brass fittings, a locket with a guard and the tip of the scabbard with a brass tip.
