Fully bronzed. Round barrel, length 18 cm, with sight. Frame marked "STARR.ARMS.Co NEW YORK." on one side, and on the other side "STARR'S PATENT JAN.15.1856." Single action. Six-shot central percussion cylinder, serial number "46544." Walnut grip with inspector George W. Chapman's control stamp "G W C."
Overall length of the firearm 35 cm.
Wooden case not original to the model. Length 53 cm, width 19 cm, H 8.3 cm. Brass handle, interior re-lined with blue cloth at a later date.
Bullet mold.
Brown leather powder flask with brass spout marked "BOCHE BTE A PARIS."

This model was manufactured from 1863 to 1865, with a batch purchased by France during the Franco-Prussian War in 1871. In total, 32,000 units were produced, of which around 25,000 were for military use.
