HISTORICAL:
The 1st carabiniers regiment formed the carabiniers of "Monsieur" until 1825 when it resumed its original name. Related work - An identical watercolor in composition and from the same period by Carle Vernet in the collections of the Army Museum (Inv 998-147) representing the camp of the 4th cuirassiers regiment in 1814-1815.
