FLINTLOCK BLUNDERBUSS FOR EXPORT, Early 19th century. 33587
Octagonal then round barrel blunderbuss with flared muzzle, measuring 46 cm in length, 6 cm diameter at the muzzle, and 55 cm in overall length including the breech tang. Barrel flats decorated with a brass flower, geometric designs, and incised brass bands. White blunderbuss section engraved with a floral decoration featuring a crescent and flower. Flintlock mechanism in steel with brass volutes, signed in Arabic. Walnut stock engraved with brass fillets forming volutes and geometric designs. Brass ramrod. Trigger guard and buttplate in brass.
Overall length 73.5 cm.
Early 19th century.
Good condition, with traces of dark stains on the stock. The lock mechanism properly functions in both fired and safety positions, with a strong spring. The overall mechanism is in excellent condition, only the inside of the barrel requires cleaning, with light surface rust present that needs cleaning.
