BICORNE HAT OF A STATE COUNCILOR, Second Empire. 32331R
In black taupe felt, length 50 cm, height of the front part 10 cm, height of the back part 15.5 cm, width 15 cm. Each horn is partly adorned with a black plume. The front horn is adorned with two wide black silk ribbons, 6.5 cm wide, a black velvet braid embroidered in silver-gilt trimmings representing a double branch of oak and laurel, 4.5 cm wide, attached to the hat by a half-spherical gilt brass uniform button depicting an imperial eagle with a ribbon marked "CONSEIL D'ÉTAT". Tricolor braided cockade, Ø 8 cm. Interior lining composed of a ocher calf band and a ivory silk lining marked with the manufacturer's logo in gold.
Transport box in cardboard covered with green paper, inside with a label from the manufacturer "259. RUE SAINT HONORÉ / LEBEL STRITTER FILS / Hatter / to the Emperor & Empress / PARIS".
