DOLMAN, SASH CORD, CARTRIDGE BOX, AND SWORD BELT OF A LIEUTENANT FROM THE 7TH HUSSAR REGIMENT in field uniform, circa 1845, July Monarchy. 33607
LIEUTENANT'S DOLMAN.
Made of dark green wool with crimson facings, all trimmings in black braid. Collet trim 2 cm high. Cuffs trimmed with two 5 mm wide silver-gilt braids. The dolman fastens straight at the front with 18 gilt brass buttons. Each front panel is decorated with 18 black wool braids edged with gilt brass half-spherical uniform buttons on the outside.
Inner lining in white canvas, collars lined with black velvet, and the lower part lined with green waxed Moroccan leather.
Fair condition, significant loss with restoration, moth holes, and damages (mainly at the lower part of the dolman and at shoulder level).
SASH CORD.
Made of black wool braid, consisting of a cord folded in half over a length of approximately 115 cm with two sliders, followed by a braided section of about 27 cm, and finished with tasseled fringes and sliders over 22 cm.
Good condition, with rubs and wear.
CARTRIDGE BOX.
Black varnished leather field flag in 6.2 cm width, leather folded over itself, fastening with 14 gilt brass half-grelot buttons, gilt brass snap hooks.
Wooden box clad in black varnished Moroccan leather (H 7 cm, width at the top 14.5 cm, thickness 2 cm) with gilt brass flanks.
Black varnished leather strap (H 9 cm, max width 16.2 cm) framed by a gilt brass rim, featuring a relief-stamped Gallic Rooster surrounded by oak and laurel branches in the center.
Very good condition, leather of the flag torn at one of the bottom buttons.
SWORD BELT.
Black varnished leather pouch, H 30 cm, width at the top 19 cm, width at the bottom 25 cm, with a blue sky-colored cloth-lined inner pocket, H 26 cm. In the center, a gilt brass shield-shaped plate with a relief-stamped Gallic Rooster atop a ribbon tying together laurel and oak branches against a backdrop of a bundle of flags. In the lower part, a circle is cut out with the number "7." Plate height 15.7 cm, width 13.8 cm. Complete with its three half-circle-shaped brass suspension rings.
Good condition, plate has lost its gilding, leather rim at the bottom of the strap is damaged.
